Evaluation of Occupational Stress and Hospital Support for Nurses Caring for COVID-19 Patients: Comparison Between Nurses with Experience of Patient Care in Infectious and Non-Infectious Wards

Background: Nursing care activities in the context of infectious epidemics, such as COVID-19, can lead to high levels stress nurses. Objectives: This study aimed investigate relationship between occupational and adequacy hospital support measures among nurses with experience caring for patients non-infectious diseases during COVID-19 outbreak. Methods: descriptive-analytical cross-sectional was conducted on Imam Reza Hospital Complex Mashhad, Iran. The sample size determined at 194 who were selected through random sampling. data collected using a standard questionnaire analyzed structural equation modeling approach Smart PLS software (version 2.0). Moreover, descriptive inferential statistics employed analysis. Results: results correlation analysis showed negative significant (P<0.001). Furthermore, mean scores working wards 63.96 65.34, respectively. Additionally, there no difference values wards. effects control variables work shift (morning, evening, or night) (years) not this study. Conclusion: epidemic caused many new sometimes stressful environments conditions. Proper shifts, improvement interpersonal communication, provision ongoing supportive be effective reducing stress.
